ACTIVITY:Listen to the document and associate the name of the person with the country and nationality.

1)    Bob is from America = He is American.

2)    Fiona is from Ireland = She is Irish.

3)    Alex is from England = She is English.

4)    Brenda is from Wales = She is Welsh.

5)    Bernard is from Scotland = He is Scottish.

         La Grande Bretagne est une île (Great Britain) qui est composée de 3 pays: l'Angleterre (England), Le Pays de Galle (Wales) et l'Ecosse (Scotland).

         Le Royaume-Uni est composée de la Grande Bretagne (Angleterre, Ecosse et Pays de Galle) et de l'Irlande du Nord (Northern Ireland)

Ex: Alex is English and she is British.

HOW OLD ARE YOU?

Pour demander à quelqu'un son age, on demande: « How old are you? »

Pour donner son age en anglais, on utilise le verbe BE (être):

Ex: I am ______ years old

Ex: I am eleven (11) years old.

Ex: I am twelve (12) years old.

On peut également donner son âge en utilisant simplement « I am » et le chiffre.

Ex: I am eleven! Ex: I am twelve!

Pour dire et comprendre l'âge, il faut connaître les chiffres!

Pour demander à quelqu'un d'épeler son nom, on demande:

     # Can you spell your name? (Peux-tu épeler ton nom?)

OU # Can you spell it? (Peux-tu l'épeler?)

On répond en épelant son nom en anglais:

Les 6e vont voir que pour demander le nom de quelqu'un "What's your name?" est possible, mais on peut aussi tout à fait demander "Who are you?" ("Qui es-tu?" / "Qui êtes-vous?"); question à laquelle on répondra: "I am..."

Ci-dessous le générique de C.S.I.: Las Vegas ("Les Experts: Las Vegas"), dans lequel le chanteur demande "Who are you? Who, who?..."

(Eminem a également produit une chanson qui s'appelait "My name is", mais le clip n'est pas montrable ici...)
