Disaster in Japan

There was an earthquake in Japan two weeks ago. It was 8.9 on the Richter scale. It was the 6th biggest earthquake in history. A lot of houses were destroyed and a lot of people were killed.

The earthquake caused a Tsunami. It swept away buildings, houses, cars and even ships!

People were terrified / horrified / afraid / scared / sad / shocked. They ran, escaped and took shelter. They were evacuated.

In the Fukushima nuclear power plant the reactors were destroyed. So the uranium was exposed...

Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan

In Japan there was an earthquake two weeks ago. It was 8.9 on the Richter scale. A lot of roads and houses were destroyed.

Because of the earthquake, a big Tsunami hit Japan. A huge wave swept away houses, cars and people...

The Fukushima power plant was destroyed because the earthquake damaged the reactors.

Today the food (vegetables, water...) is contaminated and the ground is going to be contaminated for a long time.
